George William Mugerwa, MEd.,LMHC, LADC 1. Assistant Clinical Director

George William Mugerwa is a board-certified Mental-Health and Addiction Counselor from Boston College and the University of Massachusetts Boston with over 16 years of managing patients with various psychiatric disorders utilizing holistic and Client-centered therapies. Mr. Mugerwa is a clinician who is non-judgmental, empathetic, and authentic. He is well-trained in handling crises while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team at Assured Hope Community Health and other community providers. George’s specialty includes treatment for but is not exclusive to addictions, anxiety, depression, impulsivity, adjustments, transitions, relationship issues, etc. He provides treatment in individual, couple, and family modalities, REBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, family systems, and goal-oriented treatment. Mr. Mugerwa’s genuine intention is for you to realize from the moment you encounter him that you are in a safe, non-judgmental space in which you will be treated with respect in all aspects of the therapeutic relationship, from using your chosen pronouns to seeing you as a whole person beyond any label you may have been given. We will work together to identify your challenges and strengths and which therapeutic modalities work best to support your healing process.

Sandra Vilchis

Sandra Vilchis is a Clinical Mental Health clinician with a concentra4on in Forensic and Correc4onal Counseling. Sandra earned her master’s degree from William James College in Newton, MA and is license eligible. She is an alumni from the University of Lowell (UML) MassachuseHs where she holds a bachelor’s degree, has a double major in Psychology and in Criminal Jus4ce with a concentra4on in violence and has been academically recognized in the honors dean’s list. She has 9 years of experience working in the mental health field and has worked with children, adults, and families in various seQngs including schools, homes, offices, community spaces, courts, recovery programs, and prison. She has vast knowledge in assessing and in trea4ng co-occurring disorders. She is a respected member of the community and while managing clients care she has collaborated and consulted with many professionals throughout the community. She has focused on providing one-on-one counseling, group therapy, one on one crisis check ins, in home therapy, intensive care coordina4on services, family stabiliza4on services, and responding to crisis aTer hour calls in both English and Spanish language along with being an on call clinician for the Intensive Home Based Therapeu4c Care program (IHBTC). She is culturally diverse in working with clients and has received training in AHachment, Self-Regula4on, and Competency (ARC), Courageous Conversa4ons, Mo4va4onal Interviewing (MI), Substance Use Interven4ons, Risk and Safety Assessment, and Trauma Focused Cogni4ve Therapy (TFCBT). She u4lizes Dialec4cal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cogni4ve behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person- Centered Therapy (PCT). Addi4onally, she enriches the therapeu4c process by implemen4ng a safe space, a nonjudgmental stance, crea4ng an authen4c connec4on, and providing uncondi4onal posi4ve regard. She is known for being an empathic and compassionate listener.

Cheryl McKinney’s

Cheryl McKinney is a Professional Masters level Clinician, with over 20 years of experience and education working with various cultures and diversities. Although for the vast majority of my devotion has been working in the counseling field I am also a trained Health and Wellness coach, I have also worked in the education field as a substitute teacher and owned my own daycare. I went to school at Anna Maria College for my Master’s Degree and Adcare Educational Institute for my Addiction Counseling Certificate. Currently I am going to school for my second master’s degree in social work. My Specialty areas include but not limited to : communication, commitment, empathy, listening, planning, interpersonal skills, adaptability, leadership, and resiliency. While my counseling career started out in 2002 where I had counseled Adults , Children, and Families , this is predominately where I became familiar with so many difficult situations and learned that people can have so many difficult behaviors no matter what age they are. This is where I learned how to cope and manage the difficult behaviors with trial and error. I therefore feel that I have learned so much along the way in my career and I can relate more deeply and grasp onto things on a much deeper and professional level and can be there to help you work through your difficult time of change. We can work this out through my strategies of: Cognitive behavior Therapy, motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Techniques, Person-centered techniques, Reflective Listening, Empathy Listening, Family therapy, Addiction counseling, Solution-focused therapy, grief counseling, and I do believe in your higher power. Ronald Mubiito

I am a dedicated mental health clinician with a passion for helping individuals of all ages navigate life’s challenges and find inner peace. With over four years of experience, I specialize in working with children aged 7 and above, teenagers, adults, and seniors who are struggling with a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and anger management. My therapeutic approach is holistic, integrating evidence-based techniques from, and not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Art Therapy (ART). By tailoring my methods to each client’s unique needs and preferences, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where healing and growth can flourish. My educational background includes a Diploma in Philosophical Studies, a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, and a master’s degree in counseling psychology. This diverse academic foundation enriches my practice by fostering a deep understanding of human thought, emotion, and behavior. Martin Mugerwa

Martin Mugerwa is a Mental Health Therapist who primarily specializes in substance use and addiction disorders, trauma, adjustment, grief, and impulsivity. Regardless of his main specializations, he is holistically trained to provide care for all clients. He has clinical experience of 5+ years in providing psychotherapy and counseling to clients across the lifespan with a broad range of mental and behavioral health disorders, including but not limited to major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder, grief, and panic disorder. He graduated from Boston University with a Master’s in Divinity with a sub-concentration in Conflict Transformation. He also completed his Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and Yale New Haven Bridgeport Hospital, CT respectively where he worked extensively in the psychiatric department. He is an amiable therapist with impeccable clinical and interpersonal skills. He is an active listener who shows genuine empathy toward the clients’ mental and behavioral health challenges. He uses therapeutic approaches such as but not limited to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), etc. These skills and more of his great attributes enable him to excel at his duties while maintaining therapeutic professional relationships with his clients and colleagues at Assured Hope Community Health. Anushree Shah, LMHC

Anushree Shah is a licensed mental health counselor with over 8 years of experience across diverse settings, including hospitals, community mental health centers, and outpatient facilities. She specializes in guiding clients and families through crises and managing chronic medical, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
Anushree employs a holistic therapeutic approach that emphasizes understanding the whole person. She collaborates with individuals and families to uncover the root causes of behaviors, enhance self-awareness, and build self-esteem. By delving into past experiences, she helps clients address unhealthy patterns and gain clarity for navigating daily life more effectively.
Recognizing that the first step toward therapy can be daunting, Anushree is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. She provides a safe, inclusive, and private space where clients can openly explore their concerns and work towards meaningful change. Her practice incorporates modalities such as CBT, DBT, MI, and EMDR, offering a range of tools and techniques tailored to individual needs.

Medie Tonda, LADC1

I am aware of the challenges that come with seeking therapy and want to be a support to those who are hesitant with the process.

My approach is holistic and client-centered, recognizing that everyone’s journey towards mental health and/or addiction is unique. I integrate various therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, all tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient.
 
I am committed to helping my patients navigate their challenges and reach their personal goals. Sessions will focus on providing support and utilizing a strengths-based approach to achieve change. Together, we work towards unlocking the potential for healing and transformation that lies within everyone.

Olivia Flores-Bourgeois

Olivia Flores-Bourgeois is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner specializing in the care of children and adolescents. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health across the life span from MCPHS University in Boston, where she had previously obtained her BSN and graduated magna cum laude.

 
Before joining our team, Olivia worked as a nurse at McLean Hospital on the bipolar and schizophrenia unit, where she developed a deep understanding of complex mental health conditions and treatment modalities. She worked closely with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and social workers caring for patients diagnosed but not limited to: bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, psychosis, autism, ADHD, PTSD, and eating disorders. She also works as a float nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, which has further expanded her clinical expertise across diverse patient populations.
 
During her graduate studies, Olivia conducted research on ADHD treatment for children and adolescents, a topic she remains passionate about. Her clinical training included working with our very own team, where she honed her skills in providing empathetic, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. 
 
Growing up with four younger brothers and working as a babysitter throughout high school, Olivia developed an early interest in supporting and advocating for children. She values the importance of promoting mental wellness in one’s early life so that they can thrive with continuous support, positive coping skills, and self love to ensure a healthy transition into adulthood. She takes pride in building strong, collaborative relationships with her patients and their families to foster growth, resilience, and mental wellness. 
 
In her free time, she enjoys painting, writing, reading, spending time with her dogs, and chess.
