Shannon Comeau (APRN, PMHNP-BC) is a board-certified mental health nurse
practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and
Health Sciences. She completed her internship at Assured Hope Community Health where she
honed her skills of clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning. She has a bachelor’s
degree in nursing from Ana Maria College and an associate degree in nursing from North Shore
Community College. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the American
Psychiatric Nurses Association. Shannon has twelve years of clinical experience in nursing
including long-term care, rehabilitation, care of unsheltered patients, acute care, and inpatient
psychiatric nursing. She is well-versed in working with patients with a myriad of mental health
diagnoses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, OCD, disordered eating,
personality disorders, autism, and ADHD. She has also held advanced nursing positions such as
staff educator, nursing supervisor, and surveyor of healthcare facilities. With this experience,
Shannon has developed a well-rounded view of patient care and is especially passionate about
providing trauma-informed, holistic care. She acknowledges the power of the mind-body
connection and is particularly interested in the interplay between mental and physical health. She
treats the whole client by collaborating with patients to develop individualized treatment plans,
including interventions such as medication management, psychotherapy, and behavioral and
lifestyle changes. Shannon has a calm, compassionate demeanor and is a patient and empathetic
listener. She develops a safe, authentic environment for clients to form a therapeutic alliance.
She takes pride in partnering with her clients to assist them in meeting their mental health goals.

Shannon enjoys travel, weightlifting, reading, quilting, and spending time outdoors with her
family and two dogs.
